This extremely complex project at the Norwood E. Jackson Correctional Center in Valhalla, NY involved the demolition of the existing Penitentiary and the building of a new, state-of-the-art facility. The new facility is rising on the same site as the demolished buildings and is integrated with portions of the existing facility which remain. This is being accomplished in a fully occupied and functioning, 24-7, high security facility. The project includes full environmental control with energy recovery and redundant systems as well as smoke control to insure safe, continuous operation under all circumstances.
